STATE MOTTO:
Al-ki a.k.a "bye and bye."

Washington

On November 11, 1889, Washington became the 42nd state to enter the Union. It is the only state in the Union that is named for a president, George Washington. Washington is known for the Olympic Mountains, the San Juan Islands and Mount Rainier, one of the nation’s highest peaks in the Lower 48. In addition to its scenic treasures, Washington is known as the birthplace of Starbucks coffee, The Boeing Co. and Microsoft Corp.

No exploring of Washington would be complete without a visit to its largest and most famous city, Seattle. Often referred to as the “ Emerald City”, Seattle is a vibrant cosmopolitan hub that seamlessly blends its rich history with a thriving contemporary culture. As you embark on your journey through the Evergreen State, be prepared to be captivated by its natural wonders, enchanted by its right cultural heritage, and inspired by the warmth and hospitality of its people.
